
Walter Fonseca
Partner, Vice Chairman
Walter Fonseca is Partner and Vice Chairman of Polarix. Based between Geneva, Monaco, and Buenos Aires, he brings more than three decades of experience in private equity, venture capital, and direct investments. Over his career, he has led more than 45 acquisitions, 29 M&A transactions, and over 20 venture capital rounds, achieving 22 successful exits through strategic buyers.
He co-founded Phimpact Investments in Geneva, a pioneering firm focused on social and environmental impact, and played a central role in developing investment platforms for family offices through the BW Investors Club. Earlier in his career, Walter held senior positions at Merrill Lynch, ABN AMRO, OPIC Fund, and Citicorp. He was a member of the founding teams of Citicorp Venture Capital (CVC) and Citicorp Capital Investors (CCI), among the forerunners of the private equity industry in Latin America during the 1980s.
Walter’s extensive track record across global markets and his experience in governance and fundraising bring strategic depth to Polarix’s investment platform. He holds a Business degree and a Master’s in Finance from the University of Buenos Aires, a PAD from IAE Business School, and has completed the Global CEO Program at IESE Business School in Spain.
